Sightings @ Indian Pond

Walked around the pond at about 2:00PM Sunday 10/21...a beautiful afternoon. I discovered approximately 6 pair of Mallards and one pair of Wood Ducks preening , a pair of Yellow Rumped Warblers, 4 turtles, tadpoles that are getting larger and maturing and a load of Canada Geese on the river.

What was surprising to me was that the male Mallard and Wood Ducks were traveling in a tight threesome with a female.

And a dozen turtles on various dead limbs. At least five snowy egrets up the river.

I saw an Osprey at the DPW yard on Sunday sitting ina tree. I saw it again on Tuesday afternoon, soaring over Brett Park. The Old River bend at Brett has become a popular fishing destination for the Egrets, Cormorants, and Heron. A Red Tailed Hawk likes to soar around Brett and New Bridge landing too. An Eagle has been spotted behind the Steuben house on numerous mornings.
